She Just Can't Forgive!
I use to have a close friend but after a misunderstanding, she never forgave me, well, for a mean sentence that I've thrown at her! I felt I had reason to have uttered that to her, though on thinking back, I know I should have controlled my She just words. After that, I wanted to say "sorry" but I know she wasn't ready to accept my apology. It has been 6 years down the line but she never reduced her anger even one bit, from the way she stormed off the opposite way whenever we met, or she'd just charge right pass me, like a speeding car!
Knowing God's will is to forgive, I refuse to get angry. Instead, I thought I must be an important person for her to be angry with for so long. She must have missed all our friendship, after all, I helped her many times, and she too helped me go through lots of thick and thin moments before. She had long been suffering from arthritis but it got worse, despite all the exercises, vitamins and treatments that she went through. Today, she can't drive for far distance because of the pain in her limbs, she can't sit for long for her back pain shoots up to her whole body, and she is forced to stand up to type at the computer in the office. She can't really type though, for her fingers are stiff, she can't open them straight away after getting out of bed! I was told by a medical doctor that lots of people suffer de-generative diseases because they are angry and bitter! Their anger releases the hormone adrenaline. When there is continuous release of adrenaline in the body, it causes these pain and even cancer! So dear friends, remind yourself to forgive someone as soon as you can, even when you are still feeling the hurt that he or she has caused you. If you can't forgive, ask yourself this: If God can forgive those who've sinned, are we above him in not wanting to forgive? Don't wait for the person to say "sorry", or else you're allowing him or her to control you, your anger destroys your peace of mind, and your health eventually will also suffer. The Bible says forgive your enemy before you pray to God. Did the Bible say: Wait for the enemy to come to say sorry first? No. Why? What if someone never turn up to say sorry to you, it'll mean that you cannot go before God!! That'll be outrightly stupid! True, some people have loved ones are being killed, murdered or injured, they find it hard to forgive the sinner. But God promises revenge. He says, "Revenge is mine!" Believe me, whenever I find it hard to forgive, I pray, "God, in Jesus' mighty name, if You think my enemy deserves punishment, then revenge for me, but it's in your will that I forgive my enemy NOW and stop letting him control me. I leave him to You!". And sure after that, I will see my enemy suffer, and suffer much more than what I could do to punish him myself! And somehow, I would always know what punishment my enemies got. Well..., just trust God.
